What does the 1-way valve do?
The 1-way valve is a one-directional airflow mechanism. During rescue breathing, the valve opens to allow airflow toward the patient. When backflow occurs, the valve closes to prevent the patient's exhaled air and fluids from passing back through the shield. The filter in the valve provides an additional layer of protection.
What is the difference between the standard Adsafe face shield and the Plus version?
The Plus version includes both a mouthpiece and a filtered 1-way valve, providing directional airflow control in addition to the face shield barrier. The standard version may not include these components. The Plus version is the preferred option for rescuers who want a more complete barrier device.
How do I use a CPR face shield?
Place the face shield over the patient's face with the mouthpiece positioned over the patient's mouth. Deliver rescue breaths through the mouthpiece as trained. The 1-way valve controls airflow direction during the breath cycle. Follow the CPR technique as taught in your training.
Is this face shield single-use or reusable?
CPR face shields are generally intended for single use in an actual emergency and should be disposed of appropriately after use. For training purposes on manikins, the face shield may be reused if cleaned and disinfected between uses per the manufacturer's instructions. Consult the product documentation for specific reuse and disposal guidance.
