Alex Orthopedic Coccyx Car Cushion, Navy, Firm Foam

The Alex Orthopedic Coccyx Car Cushion is made from firm supportive foam in a wedge shape that elevates the front of the seat to tilt the pelvis forward, reducing direct pressure on the coccyx during extended sitting in the car. The tapered wedge design — 3 inches at the back tapering to 1 inch at the front — promotes a more neutral pelvic position that takes pressure off the tailbone and lower spine. At 16 inches wide by 13 inches deep, it fits most car seats without shifting, and the removable washable cover and carry handle make it easy to maintain and transport.

Ideal For

Drivers and passengers who experience tailbone or coccyx discomfort during long commutes or road trips will find the Alex Orthopedic Coccyx Car Cushion's firm wedge foam tilts the pelvis forward to shift weight off the tailbone and onto the thighs during extended seated travel. Individuals recovering from a bruised or fractured coccyx who need pressure relief during seated activities will find the tapered wedge design and firm foam appropriate for reducing concentrated pressure on the coccyx. Those with lower back pain aggravated by car seat posture will benefit from the wedge design's pelvic tilt support, which promotes a more neutral lumbar and pelvic position during driving. Frequent travelers and commuters who need a portable, easy-to-clean seating solution will find the removable washable cover and carry handle practical for moving the cushion between vehicles or seating environments.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does a wedge cushion relieve coccyx pain?
The wedge angle tilts the pelvis slightly forward, shifting weight off the tailbone and onto the thighs, while the firm foam distributes pressure more evenly across the seated surface. Together, these reduce the concentrated pressure on the coccyx that causes pain during prolonged sitting.

Will this fit in my car?
At 16 inches wide by 13 inches deep, this cushion fits the seats of most standard passenger cars, SUVs, and trucks. If your vehicle has a very narrow or bucket-style seat, measure your seat width before purchasing to confirm fit.

Can I use this cushion in an office chair or wheelchair?
Yes. While designed for car use, the dimensions and wedge design are compatible with most standard office chairs and wheelchairs. The carry handle makes it easy to move between the car, office, and home as needed.

How do I clean the cover?
The cover is removable. Machine wash according to the care label instructions and allow to air dry fully before replacing on the foam. Do not wash the foam core; spot clean only if needed.
