Heavy-duty walking support built for bariatric users and anyone who needs a stronger, taller cane. This bariatric offset cane is constructed from heavy-duty steel tubing rated to 500 lbs, with a height range of 30" to 39" that accommodates taller users who standard canes don’t fit. The offset handle design positions the user’s weight directly over the cane shaft for better balance and reduced wrist strain compared to a straight-handle cane. Push-button height adjustment in 1" increments makes setup fast and easy, and the dual-button locking system with safety locking silencer prevents rattling and keeps the height setting secure during use. A comfortable foam grip and included wrist strap add control and security, and the 18mm rubber tip provides stable floor contact. Backed by a limited lifetime warranty. Color: Silver.
What is an offset cane handle and why is it better for weight bearing?
An offset cane handle is bent so that the grip sits directly above the cane shaft rather than at the end of a straight handle. This alignment transfers the user’s body weight straight down through the shaft to the floor, which improves stability and reduces the torque and wrist strain that a straight-handle cane creates. For bariatric users or anyone putting significant weight through a cane, the offset design provides a more mechanically efficient and comfortable grip.
How do I set the correct cane height?
Stand upright in your normal walking shoes and let your arms hang naturally at your sides. The top of the cane handle should align with your wrist crease. At this height, your elbow will have a slight bend (approximately 15–20°) when holding the cane, which is the correct position for efficient weight transfer and comfortable use. Use the push-button adjustment to set the height in 1" increments within the 30–39" range.
Can I replace the rubber tip when it wears out?
Yes. The rubber tip is an 18mm standard size and is replaceable. Rubber cane tips wear down with regular use and should be inspected periodically — a worn or cracked tip reduces traction and increases the risk of slipping. Replacement 18mm cane tips are widely available.
What does the safety locking silencer do?
The safety locking silencer is a mechanism that eliminates the rattling sound and movement that can occur when a push-button height adjustment is not fully locked. It confirms that the height adjustment button is fully engaged and the cane is locked at the selected height, providing both audible and tactile confirmation that the cane is safe to use.
