Ideal For

Individuals with coccydynia (tailbone pain) caused by injury, fracture, bruising, or chronic irritation who need to sit for extended periods at work, in a vehicle, or at home will find the tailbone cutout design provides meaningful pressure relief compared to standard flat cushions. Post-partum women experiencing tailbone soreness following vaginal delivery will find the cutout reduces pressure on the bruised or strained coccyx during feeding, desk work, and daily activities. Office workers and remote workers who sit for long hours and experience tailbone discomfort from prolonged sitting on hard or unsupportive chairs will benefit from the memory foam's pressure-relieving properties and ergonomic shape. Individuals recovering from coccyx surgery or coccygectomy will find the cutout eliminates direct contact between the surgical site and the seat during the post-operative recovery period.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does the tailbone cutout work?
The cutout at the rear of the cushion creates a void directly beneath the coccyx when seated, so the tailbone is suspended in open space rather than resting on a firm surface. This eliminates or significantly reduces direct pressure on the coccyx during sitting, which is the primary source of pain for individuals with coccydynia or tailbone injuries.

How do I care for this cushion?
The soft polyester and rayon cover is removable and machine washable. Unzip the cover and wash according to the care label instructions. The memory foam cushion body should not be machine washed — spot clean as needed and allow to air dry fully before replacing the cover.

Can this cushion be used in a car or on an airplane?
Yes — the included transport strap makes the cushion easy to carry and use in a variety of seating environments, including office chairs, car seats, and airplane seats. The 18 x 16 inch footprint fits most standard seat surfaces.

Is this cushion suitable for wheelchair use?
This cushion may be used in a wheelchair seat, but it is not a medical-grade pressure-relief cushion designed specifically for wheelchair use. If you require a wheelchair cushion for pressure injury prevention or management, consult your physician or seating specialist for a clinically appropriate recommendation.
