Frequently Asked Questions

What are flat-free wheels and why are they useful?
Flat-free wheels are solid or foam-filled tires that cannot go flat. They require no inflation and provide a consistently stable ride over varied surfaces without maintenance. For a transport chair used outdoors or over thresholds and curbs, flat-free wheels eliminate the risk of a flat tire during use.

What are loop locks and how do they work?
Loop locks are brake levers mounted at the push handle level at the rear of the chair, where the caregiver stands. They allow the caregiver to engage and release the wheel locks without bending down. The Expedition also includes standard hand brakes for additional braking control during transport.

How does the folding mechanism work?
The Expedition features a lever on the chair back that folds the back down flat with minimal effort. Once the back is folded, the seat folds using the standard cross-brace fold. The chair comes fully assembled with no setup required before first use.

Is this chair also available in blue?
Yes. The Expedition Aluminum Transport Chair is available in both red and blue frame colors. The specifications and features are identical across both colors.
