The Pedifix Pedi-GEL Ball-of-Foot Cushion Pads provide targeted cushioning and pressure relief for the metatarsal area using Pedifix’s proprietary Pedi-GEL material. The soft gel pads adhere directly to the skin or to the inside of shoes — whichever the user prefers — to provide extra cushioning exactly where it is needed. Pedi-GEL is self-sticking, washable, and reusable, and is formulated to be safe for sensitive skin. Each pack contains 2 pads.
Individuals experiencing ball-of-foot pain, metatarsalgia, or general forefoot discomfort from prolonged standing, walking, or wearing shoes with inadequate cushioning will find the Pedi-GEL pads a convenient, low-profile solution that can be worn with most footwear. People with Morton’s neuroma, sesamoiditis, or other conditions that cause localized metatarsal pressure and pain will benefit from the targeted cushioning that reduces direct pressure on the affected area during weight-bearing activity. Those who prefer to apply cushioning directly to the skin rather than placing an insole in their shoe — particularly when wearing dress shoes, sandals, or footwear with limited interior space — will find the skin-adhesive option a practical alternative to traditional insoles. The washable, reusable construction makes the pads a cost-effective option for individuals who need ongoing daily forefoot cushioning.
Can I apply the pads directly to my skin or do they go in my shoe?
Both options are available. The Pedi-GEL pads can be applied directly to the ball of the foot for skin-contact cushioning, or placed on the inside of the shoe at the forefoot area. The self-sticking Pedi-GEL material adheres to both skin and shoe interiors without additional adhesive. Choose the application method that works best for your footwear and comfort preference.
How do I clean and reuse the pads?
Rinse the pads with mild soap and warm water, gently rub to remove any debris, and allow them to air dry completely before reuse. Once dry, the self-sticking surface will restore its adhesive properties. Avoid using harsh detergents or scrubbing aggressively, as this can degrade the gel material over time.
How long do the pads last?
The pads are designed to be washable and reusable for multiple uses. Longevity depends on frequency of use, care, and individual wear patterns. Replace the pads when the gel material becomes thin, loses its cushioning properties, or no longer adheres reliably.
Are these pads suitable for use with orthotics or insoles?
The pads are thin and low-profile, but combining them with a full insole or orthotic may create a fit issue in some footwear. If you use custom or over-the-counter orthotics, consider applying the pads directly to the skin rather than inside the shoe to avoid stacking. Consult your podiatrist or orthotist if you are unsure about compatibility with your current footwear setup.
