Toe caps protect the entire toe tip from shoe pressure and friction — useful for corns, hammer toes, crooked toes, ingrown nails, and general toe sensitivity. The Visco-GEL Toe Cap surrounds the toe with soft all-gel construction that cushions the toe tip and sides against shoe contact. The thin side wall design takes up less space inside the shoe than fabric-covered alternatives, making it easier to wear with standard footwear. A Comfort Vent provides breathability during extended wear, and extra padding at the toe tip provides targeted protection for the most common pressure point. All-gel construction. X-Large.
What is the advantage of all-gel construction over a fabric-covered gel cap?
Fabric-covered gel caps have a textile outer layer over the gel core, which adds thickness and can cause the cap to feel bulkier inside the shoe. All-gel caps have no fabric layer — the gel is the outer surface — which allows a thinner side wall profile that takes up less space in the toe box. The gel surface also has a slight self-adhesive quality against skin that helps the cap stay in position on the toe without shifting during wear.
What does the Comfort Vent do?
The Comfort Vent is an opening in the gel cap that allows air circulation around the toe during wear. Gel materials can trap heat and moisture against the skin during extended use, which can cause discomfort or skin maceration with prolonged wear. The vent reduces heat and moisture buildup by allowing airflow through the cap, making it more comfortable for all-day wear compared to a fully enclosed gel cap.
How do I put on the toe cap and which toe does it fit?
Slide the cap over the affected toe so the closed end covers the toe tip and the open end sits at the base of the toe. The cap can be worn on any toe that fits the X-Large size — it is not specific to a particular toe. For hammer toes and crooked toes, ensure the cap is fully seated so the extra toe-tip padding is positioned over the tip of the bent toe where shoe contact occurs.
How do I clean and reuse the toe cap?
Rinse with mild soap and warm water after each use, allow to air dry completely, and dust lightly with talcum powder to restore the non-stick surface before reuse. Replace when the gel is torn, stretched out of shape, or no longer provides adequate cushioning. Avoid exposure to sharp objects and petroleum-based products, which can degrade the gel material.
