The Drive Medical Adult Trigger Release Folding Walker allows the user to close the walker without removing their hands from the handles — ideal for individuals with limited finger dexterity. The trigger release can be reached with hands of all sizes, and the durable composite trigger resists cracking and breaking for long-term reliability. Built from 1-inch diameter anodized extruded aluminum for maximum strength while remaining lightweight. Includes rear glide caps and glide covers for use on all surfaces. Replacement 5-inch wheels are available separately (item 1081A). Patented design. Supports up to 350 lbs. Backed by a limited lifetime warranty.
This trigger release folding walker is well suited for adults who need a reliable daily walking aid and have difficulty operating standard push-button walkers due to limited finger dexterity, arthritis, or reduced grip strength. Physical therapists and occupational therapists frequently recommend trigger release walkers for patients who struggle with the fine motor control required to press small buttons while simultaneously managing the walker frame. The trigger mechanism can be operated with the palm or side of the hand, making it accessible for a wider range of users than standard button-release designs. Home care patients, assisted living residents, and rehabilitation clinic patients will benefit from the patented design, lifetime warranty, and included glide accessories that allow the walker to be used on all floor surfaces without additional purchases.
How does the trigger release work?
The trigger release is a lever mechanism located on the walker frame that can be activated without removing the hands from the handles. The user squeezes or pulls the trigger — using fingers, palm, or side of hand — to release the fold, then folds the walker closed. This eliminates the need to reposition the hands to press a small button, which is the main challenge with standard push-button walkers for users with limited dexterity.
What surfaces can this walker be used on?
The included rear glide caps (item 1085A) and glide covers (item 1085B) allow the walker to be used on most indoor and outdoor surfaces including hardwood, tile, carpet, and pavement. The glide caps slide smoothly on hard floors, and the glide covers provide additional coverage for outdoor use.
