What does Class A mean for a first aid kit?
Class A is a classification defined by the ANSI/ISEA Z308.1 standard for workplace first aid kits. A Class A kit is designed to address the most common types of workplace injuries — cuts, scrapes, burns, eye injuries, and sprains — and includes a minimum set of required supply types and quantities. Class A kits are appropriate for low-hazard work environments such as offices, retail spaces, and schools. Higher-hazard environments may require a Class B kit with a broader and larger supply set.
What is Burnshield and how is it used?
Burnshield is a water-based burn treatment product that contains a cooling gel designed to soothe minor burns, reduce heat in the tissue, and provide a moist wound environment that supports initial burn care. The gel packets are applied directly to the burn area, and the dressing pad can be placed over the burn to protect it during transport to medical care. Burnshield is not a substitute for professional medical treatment — for any burn larger than a palm or involving the face, hands, or joints, seek emergency medical attention immediately.
Can this kit be restocked after use?
Yes. The hard plastic case is designed for long-term reuse. Individual supply items — bandages, antiseptic wipes, burn gel packets, gauze, and gloves — can be replenished as they are used. Keeping a small inventory of replacement supplies on hand ensures the kit remains compliant and ready between inspections or after an incident.
Are the exam gloves latex-free?
Yes. This kit includes EverGuard Vinyl Exam Gloves, which are latex-free and suitable for use by individuals with latex sensitivities. Vinyl gloves provide a barrier against bloodborne pathogens and contaminants during first aid response without the allergy risk associated with latex-based gloves.
