Clinically proven dynamic support for plantar fasciitis and Achilles tendonitis. The Aircast AirHeel is an orthopedic brace designed for the functional treatment of plantar fasciitis and Achilles tendonitis during walking and daily activity. With each step, the AirHeel delivers intermittent pulsating compression through a dual-aircell system — one aircell under the plantar arch and one surrounding the Achilles tendon — helping minimize swelling, reduce discomfort, and provide rapid pain relief during ambulation. Fits either left or right foot. Available in Small, Medium, and Large.
How does the dual-aircell pulsating compression work?
The AirHeel contains two air-filled cells — one positioned under the plantar arch and one surrounding the Achilles tendon. As you walk, the natural heel-strike and toe-off motion of your gait compresses and releases these aircells with each step, creating a rhythmic pulsating compression effect. This intermittent compression helps stimulate circulation, reduce localized swelling, and provide dynamic support to the plantar fascia and Achilles tendon during movement — unlike static compression sleeves that provide constant, non-dynamic pressure.
Can I wear this inside my shoe?
Yes. The Aircast AirHeel is designed to be worn inside a shoe during normal daily activity. It fits under the heel and around the Achilles area and is low-profile enough to fit in most standard athletic and casual footwear. You may need to use a shoe with slightly more volume or remove an insole to accommodate the brace comfortably. Wear with a sock over the brace for comfort and hygiene.
How do I choose the right size?
Size is determined by knuckle width — measure across the widest part of your hand (across the knuckles) with your fingers together. Small fits up to 3-1/4", Medium up to 3-3/4", and Large up to 4-1/4". You can also use shoe size as a guide: Small for men’s 4–7 / women’s 5–8, Medium for men’s 7–10 / women’s 8–11, and Large for men’s 10–13 / women’s 11–15. If you are between sizes, sizing up is generally recommended for comfort.
How long should I wear the AirHeel each day?
The AirHeel is designed for use during walking and daily activity — wear it during periods when you are on your feet and experiencing symptoms. Most clinical protocols recommend wearing it consistently during activity rather than only when pain is severe. Follow your physician’s or physical therapist’s specific guidance on wear duration and frequency based on your diagnosis and stage of recovery. Remove the brace during sleep unless otherwise directed by your clinician.
