Versatile, durable foam rolling for rehabilitation and fitness. The CanDo 6" x 24" round foam roller is designed for a wide range of therapeutic and exercise applications including positioning, balance training, postural and muscle re-education, spinal stabilization, body awareness and coordination, and ranging and strengthening activities. The round profile offers progressive exercise sequences — users can move from a smaller diameter roller (easier, more stable) to a larger diameter roller (more challenging, less stable) as their balance and strength improve. Strong enough for use by large adults and active children. Color: White.
What is the difference between a round roller and a half-round roller?
A round roller (full cylinder) is less stable than a half-round roller because it can roll in any direction, requiring more active balance and muscle engagement to maintain position on top of it. This makes it more challenging and more effective for balance training, proprioception, and core stabilization exercises. A half-round roller has a flat base that stays in place on the floor, providing a more stable surface that is easier for beginners or patients in early rehabilitation. The round roller is typically introduced as a progression once the patient has mastered exercises on the half-round.
How does roller diameter affect exercise difficulty?
A smaller diameter roller sits lower to the ground, which means the user’s center of gravity is closer to the floor — making it easier to balance and control. A larger diameter roller raises the user higher off the ground, increasing the challenge to balance and core stability. The 6" diameter of this roller represents a standard intermediate size — more challenging than a 4" roller but more accessible than an 8" or 9" roller. Therapists often use a progression from smaller to larger diameter rollers as the patient’s balance and strength improve.
What exercises can I do with a 6" x 24" foam roller?
The 6" x 24" size supports a wide range of exercises: lying supine on the roller lengthwise for spinal mobilization and chest opening stretches; sitting on the roller for balance and core activation; placing the roller under the legs or arms for positioning and ranging; using it as an unstable surface under the hands or feet for push-up or plank progressions; and rolling it under tight muscle groups for self-myofascial release. Your physical therapist can prescribe a specific exercise program based on your diagnosis and goals.
How do I clean and store the foam roller?
Wipe the roller down after each use with a damp cloth and mild soap or a hospital-grade disinfectant wipe. Allow to air dry fully before storing. Do not submerge in water or use harsh chemical solvents that can degrade the foam. Store the roller horizontally on a flat surface or in a roller storage rack — avoid storing it upright for extended periods, which can cause the foam to compress unevenly over time. Keep away from direct sunlight and heat sources, which can accelerate foam breakdown.
