A compact, fully assembled CPR pocket mask ready for immediate use in an emergency. The soft, flexible dome conforms easily around the nose, mouth, and chin for a secure seal during rescue breathing. The one-way valve and filter prevent backflow of air and contaminants from the patient to the rescuer, providing a critical barrier during CPR. The standard 15mm port is compatible with bag-mask resuscitation units and aerosol tubing. Includes O2 inlet, head strap, filter, and gloves. Latex-free construction. Comes in a hard case for compact storage in a first aid kit, emergency bag, or vehicle.
How does the one-way valve protect the rescuer during CPR?
The one-way valve allows air to flow in one direction only — from the rescuer into the patient during rescue breaths. When the rescuer stops blowing, the valve closes, preventing any exhaled air, saliva, blood, or other contaminants from the patient from flowing back toward the rescuer’s mouth. The filter provides an additional barrier against airborne contaminants. Together, the valve and filter significantly reduce the risk of cross-contamination during mouth-to-mask CPR, making it safer for the rescuer than direct mouth-to-mouth contact.
What is the O2 inlet and when is it used?
The O2 inlet is a port on the mask that allows supplemental oxygen to be connected from an oxygen source — such as a portable oxygen cylinder or wall-mounted oxygen supply — during rescue breathing. When supplemental oxygen is available, connecting it to the O2 inlet increases the oxygen concentration delivered to the patient with each rescue breath, which can improve outcomes in cardiac arrest. The O2 inlet is most commonly used by trained healthcare providers and first responders who have access to supplemental oxygen at the scene.
What does the standard 15mm port allow?
The 15mm port is the universal connector size used in respiratory and resuscitation equipment. It allows this pocket mask to connect directly to a bag-valve-mask (BVM) resuscitator or aerosol tubing, enabling two-rescuer CPR where one person maintains the mask seal while the other operates the bag. This compatibility makes the mask useful in both basic lay-rescuer CPR and more advanced clinical resuscitation scenarios where a BVM is available.
Is this mask reusable or single-use?
The hard case and mask body are designed for reuse — the mask can be cleaned and disinfected between uses according to the manufacturer’s instructions. The one-way valve and filter are typically single-use components and should be replaced after each use on a patient. The included gloves are single-use. Always inspect the mask before use to confirm the valve and filter are intact and properly seated. Replace any components that show signs of damage, deterioration, or contamination.
