A lightweight, fully MRI-compatible emergency cart designed for use in any MRI environment up to 3 Tesla. Constructed entirely from PVC pipe and fittings — no ferromagnetic metal components — making it safe for use in and around MRI suites without risk of projectile hazard or image artifact. The cart holds E-series oxygen cylinders, features a top shelf sized for a suction machine, and includes three pull-out storage tubs (20" x 25" x 5") for organized emergency supply storage. PVC construction also inhibits and controls the growth of bacteria, supporting infection control in clinical environments. Lightweight and easy to maneuver. Ships directly from the manufacturer — please allow 5–7 business days for processing. Equipment not included.

Why does an emergency cart in an MRI suite need to be made of PVC?
MRI machines generate extremely powerful magnetic fields — up to 3 Tesla in this cart’s rated environment. Any ferromagnetic metal object (steel, iron, nickel) brought near an active MRI can become a dangerous projectile, be pulled violently toward the magnet, or cause serious image artifacts that compromise diagnostic quality. Standard metal crash carts cannot be used in or near an MRI suite for this reason. PVC is non-ferromagnetic and non-conductive, making it safe to use in MRI environments without risk of projectile hazard, magnetic attraction, or image interference.
What does "up to 3T" mean for MRI compatibility?
3T refers to 3 Tesla, a unit of magnetic field strength. Most clinical MRI scanners operate at 1.5T or 3T. This cart is rated safe for use in MRI environments with field strengths up to 3 Tesla, which covers the majority of clinical MRI installations. If your facility operates a higher-field MRI (such as a 7T research scanner), confirm compatibility with your MRI safety officer before use, as higher field strengths impose stricter requirements on equipment brought into the scan room.
What supplies can be stored in the pull-out tubs?
The three pull-out storage tubs (each 20" x 25" x 5") are designed to hold emergency medical supplies such as airway management equipment, IV supplies, medications, syringes, gloves, and other first-response materials. The shallow 5" depth keeps supplies visible and accessible during an emergency without requiring the user to dig through deep drawers. The specific contents should be stocked according to your facility’s emergency response protocols and the clinical scenarios most likely to occur in or near the MRI suite.
Is equipment included with the cart?
No. This listing is for the cart only — no oxygen cylinders, suction machine, or emergency supplies are included. The cart is designed to hold E-series oxygen cylinders and a suction machine on the top shelf, but these must be sourced separately. Stock the pull-out tubs with supplies according to your facility’s emergency protocols. Contact us if you need assistance sourcing compatible oxygen cylinders or other emergency equipment.
