Jobst Donning Gloves make putting on compression hosiery significantly easier for patients, caregivers, and clinicians. Made of 100% cotton with a special blue latex coating on the fingertips and palm, these gloves grip the hosiery fabric securely and help position it exactly where it needs to be — reducing effort and frustration during donning. Sold as a pair, available in Small and Medium.
How do the donning gloves make putting on compression stockings easier?
The blue latex coating on the fingertips and palm of the gloves creates friction against the compression stocking fabric, giving you a secure grip that allows you to pull and position the stocking with much less effort than bare hands. Compression stockings — especially higher mmHg garments — are very tight by design, and the latex grip significantly reduces the hand strength and dexterity required to don them correctly. This makes them particularly valuable for patients with arthritis, limited grip strength, or reduced hand function.
Are these gloves compatible with non-Jobst compression stockings?
Yes. While these gloves are designed and branded by Jobst, the latex grip coating works with any compression hosiery fabric regardless of brand. They can be used with any knee-high, thigh-high, or pantyhose-style compression garment. The gloves are especially helpful for garments with 20 mmHg or higher compression, where donning difficulty is most pronounced.
How do I choose between Small and Medium?
Choose the size that fits your hand snugly without being restrictive. As a general guide, Small fits most women with average-sized hands, and Medium fits most men or women with larger hands. A well-fitting glove provides the best grip and control during donning — a glove that is too large may bunch or slip, reducing effectiveness.
How do I care for the donning gloves?
Hand wash in warm water with mild soap and allow to air dry. Avoid machine washing or tumble drying, as heat and agitation can degrade the latex grip coating over time. Replace the gloves when the latex coating becomes worn or the grip noticeably decreases, as reduced grip effectiveness defeats the purpose of the donning aid.
