Advanced grip strength training for late-stage rehabilitation and performance conditioning. The CanDo Hand Exercise Grips in Blue (Hard, 24 lbs) are the fourth level in the CanDo ergonomic grip sequence — designed for patients in the later stages of hand rehabilitation who have progressed through lighter resistance levels, or for active individuals and athletes building toward peak grip strength. The ergonomic grip shape fits comfortably in the hand for controlled, consistent squeezing exercises, and the progressive CanDo resistance sequence provides a clear, structured path from the earliest recovery through advanced athletic performance. Sold in pairs.
How does the CanDo resistance sequence work?
The CanDo grip sequence uses color coding to indicate resistance level, with the force requirement doubling at each step — from Yellow (X-Easy, 3 lbs, lightest) through Red (Easy, 6 lbs), Green (Medium), Blue (Hard, 24 lbs), and Black (X-Hard, 48 lbs, heaviest). This progressive structure allows therapists and patients to advance resistance in a controlled, measurable way as grip strength improves. Blue is the fourth level and is appropriate for patients who have successfully completed Green or who have strong baseline grip strength entering rehabilitation.
Is Blue the right level for me?
Blue (Hard, 24 lbs) is appropriate for patients in the later stages of rehabilitation who have progressed through lighter resistance levels, or for active individuals and athletes with established grip strength who are conditioning for performance. If you are still in early or mid-stage rehabilitation, Green (Medium) or a lighter level is more appropriate. Always follow your occupational therapist’s or physical therapist’s recommendation for the correct resistance level based on your strength assessment and stage of recovery.
How do I use hand exercise grips correctly?
Hold one grip in each hand with the ergonomic shape fitting naturally in your palm. Squeeze the grip fully, hold for 2–3 seconds, then slowly release. Perform the number of repetitions and sets prescribed by your therapist. Avoid gripping so hard that you experience pain — some muscle fatigue is normal, but sharp or joint pain is a signal to stop and consult your therapist. Use both hands equally unless your therapist has specified unilateral training.
Can I purchase other resistance levels separately?
Yes. The CanDo hand exercise grips are available in all five resistance levels (Yellow, Red, Green, Blue, and Black) and are sold in pairs at each level. Check our store for the full CanDo grip sequence to find lighter levels for earlier-stage rehabilitation or Black (X-Hard, 48 lbs) for the final progression step.
