Wrist pain from repetitive tasks — typing, mouse use, assembly work, or any activity that keeps the wrist in a non-neutral position for extended periods — is one of the most common occupational complaints, and the IMAK SmartGlove addresses it at the source. The patented design encourages the hand and wrist to remain in an ergonomically correct neutral position during work and daily activities, reducing the strain that accumulates when the wrist is held in flexion or extension for long periods. The ergoBeads cushion pad on the underside of the wrist cushions and protects the pisiform bone — the pressure point that bears the brunt of wrist-to-desk contact during computer use. Flexible support allows full use of the hand while wearing the glove, and breathable cotton Lycra keeps hands comfortable during all-day wear. Reversible to fit either left or right hand. Sold as each (1 glove).
Measure knuckle width at the widest point across the knuckles to select your size:
What is the pisiform bone and why does the ergoBeads pad protect it?
The pisiform is a small, pea-shaped bone on the ulnar (pinky) side of the wrist, located at the base of the palm where the wrist meets the desk or work surface during computer use. It is a common pressure point during prolonged wrist-to-surface contact, and sustained pressure on the pisiform can contribute to discomfort, nerve compression, and circulation restriction in the wrist and hand. The ergoBeads cushion pad is positioned directly over the pisiform to distribute and absorb this contact pressure, reducing the load on the bone and the underlying structures during extended desk work.
How is this different from a rigid wrist brace?
A rigid wrist brace immobilizes the wrist in a fixed position, which is appropriate for acute injuries or post-surgical recovery where wrist movement must be restricted. The IMAK SmartGlove provides flexible support that encourages a neutral wrist position without preventing movement — the hand can be used normally for typing, writing, and other tasks while wearing the glove. This makes it more practical for continuous use during work than a rigid brace, which typically cannot be worn while typing or performing fine motor tasks.
How do I measure for the correct size?
Wrap a flexible measuring tape around your hand at the widest point across the knuckles — not including the thumb. This measurement is your knuckle width. Small fits up to 3-1/4", Medium fits up to 3-3/4", and Large fits up to 4-1/4". If your measurement falls at the upper end of a size range, sizing up may provide a more comfortable fit. The glove should fit snugly without restricting circulation or finger movement.
Can I wear this glove on either hand?
Yes. The SmartGlove is reversible — it can be worn on either the left or right hand. This is particularly useful for users who experience wrist pain in both hands and want to alternate the glove between hands, or for users who are unsure which hand is more affected and want flexibility. Each package contains one glove. If you need coverage for both hands simultaneously, two gloves are required.
