Targeted pain relief made simple. The InTENSity 10 is a powerful, easy-to-use TENS device designed for patients who want effective, clinically-based pain therapy without complicated controls. Ten pre-set body-part programs and simple 2-button operation let you select the area of discomfort and begin therapy in seconds — each body-part icon activates a customized treatment protocol based on researched clinical settings. Dual-channel output allows two areas to be treated simultaneously. Runs on a 9-volt battery or the included AC adapter. Comes complete with carrying case, lead wires, electrodes, and user manual.
What is TENS therapy and how does it relieve pain?
TENS (Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation) delivers low-voltage electrical impulses through electrodes placed on the skin near the area of pain. These impulses work through two primary mechanisms: at higher frequencies, they stimulate the nervous system to block pain signals from reaching the brain (the gate control theory of pain); at lower frequencies, they stimulate the body to produce endorphins — natural pain-relieving chemicals. TENS therapy is non-invasive, drug-free, and widely used in physical therapy clinics and home pain management programs for musculoskeletal pain, nerve pain, and post-injury recovery.
How do the 10 pre-set body programs work?
Each of the 10 body-part icons on the InTENSity 10 corresponds to a specific anatomical area — neck, shoulder, mid-back, low back, elbow, wrist, hip, knee, ankle, and foot. When you select a body-part icon, the device automatically applies a treatment protocol — including frequency, pulse width, and intensity pattern — that has been calibrated for that specific area based on clinical research. This eliminates the need to manually adjust parameters, making the device accessible for patients who are not familiar with TENS settings while still delivering clinically appropriate therapy.
Where do I place the electrodes?
Electrode placement depends on the body area being treated. Generally, electrodes are placed on either side of the painful area — not directly over the spine, open wounds, or broken skin. For each body-part program, the user manual provides specific electrode placement diagrams. Clean and dry the skin before applying electrodes for best adhesion and conductivity. The four included self-adhesive reusable electrodes can be repositioned and reused multiple times before replacement is needed. Replacement electrodes are available separately.
How long do the electrodes last and when should I replace them?
The four included self-adhesive reusable electrodes typically last 20–30 uses before the adhesive begins to lose its effectiveness. Signs that electrodes need replacement include reduced stickiness, difficulty maintaining skin contact, uneven stimulation, or skin irritation from poor adhesion. Store electrodes on their backing film between uses and keep them away from heat, direct sunlight, and lint. Replacement electrodes compatible with the InTENSity 10 are available separately — use only electrodes with the correct connector type for your lead wires.
