Better weight distribution, less wrist strain. The Blue Jay offset aluminum walking cane features an ergonomically designed offset handle that positions the user’s weight directly over the shaft — reducing the lateral force on the wrist that a standard round-handle cane creates. The soft foam rubber grip provides a comfortable, secure hold during extended use, and the integrated wrist strap keeps the cane within reach if you need to free your hands. Built from 1" anodized extruded aluminum tubing for maximum strength with minimal weight. Height adjusts from 30" to 39" with a simple one-button mechanism and locking ring. All black finish — shaft, handle, and tip — for a clean, understated look. Rated to 300 lbs. Country of Origin: China.
What is the advantage of an offset handle over a round handle?
An offset handle positions the user’s center of gravity directly over the cane shaft, which distributes weight more efficiently and reduces the lateral torque placed on the wrist. This makes offset canes significantly more comfortable for users with wrist pain, arthritis, or conditions that make gripping a standard round handle difficult. Most physical therapists recommend offset canes for users who need a cane for more than occasional light support.
How do I adjust the height?
Press the one-button release on the shaft, slide to your desired height between 30" and 39", and release to lock. The locking ring provides additional security. A general guideline: the handle should be at wrist height when standing upright with your arm relaxed at your side and a slight bend at the elbow.
What size replacement tip does this cane use?
This cane uses a standard 3/4" replacement tip. Replacement tips are available separately at most medical supply and pharmacy retailers.
Is this cane suitable for outdoor use?
Yes. The non-slip rubber tip provides traction on most indoor and outdoor surfaces including hardwood, tile, carpet, and sidewalks. For rough or uneven outdoor terrain, a quad cane may provide additional stability.
