The world’s smallest electronic nebulizer — engineered for maximum portability and dose efficiency. The Omron MicroAir uses Vibrating Mesh Technology (VMT) to aerosolize solution medications without dilution, delivering every drop of medication directly to the airways and shortening treatment time compared to traditional piston-driven nebulizers. Tubeless and cordless, it runs on 2 AA batteries and fits in the palm of your hand at just 1.5" x 2.7" x 5.3" and 6 oz.
A convenient, discreet alternative to metered dose inhalers (MDIs) for individuals managing asthma, COPD, and other respiratory conditions at home or on the go. Backed by a 2-year manufacturer’s warranty.
Compatible with most solution medications including Albuterol, Alupent, Budesonide, Pulmicort Respules, Proventil, Ventolin, Xopenex, DuoNeb, Intal, and others. Always consult your physician or pharmacist before use to confirm compatibility with your prescribed medication.
How is Vibrating Mesh Technology different from a piston-driven nebulizer?
A traditional piston-driven nebulizer uses a compressor to force air through a liquid medication to create aerosol — this process can dilute the medication and takes longer to nebulize a full dose. Vibrating Mesh Technology uses a mesh membrane with thousands of tiny holes that vibrate at high frequency to push medication through as a fine aerosol mist. This delivers medication without dilution, produces a more consistent particle size, and significantly shortens treatment time — making it more efficient and convenient for daily use.
Can I use this nebulizer with my prescribed medication?
The Omron MicroAir is compatible with most standard solution medications used for respiratory therapy, including Albuterol, Budesonide, Pulmicort Respules, Xopenex, DuoNeb, and others. However, not all medications are suitable for use with mesh nebulizers — some suspensions or viscous medications may clog the mesh. Always confirm compatibility with your physician or pharmacist before using a new medication with this device.
How long do the batteries last per treatment?
The MicroAir operates on 2 standard AA batteries (included). Battery life will vary depending on the medication volume and treatment duration. VMT nebulizers are generally more battery-efficient than piston-driven units due to their shorter treatment times. Keep spare AA batteries on hand, especially when traveling, to ensure uninterrupted treatment availability.
How do I clean the mesh cap?
The mesh cap is the most critical component to keep clean, as medication residue can clog the tiny mesh holes and reduce nebulization efficiency over time. After each use, rinse the mesh cap gently with warm water and allow it to air dry — do not rub or scrub the mesh surface. For deeper cleaning, soak in a diluted vinegar solution as directed in the instruction manual. Replace the mesh cap as recommended by Omron to maintain optimal performance.
