The raised toilet seat that cleans as easily as a regular one. Most raised toilet seats are fixed in place, making it difficult to clean the toilet bowl beneath them without removing the entire riser. This hinged raised toilet seat solves that problem with a two-part hinged design that allows the riser ring to be lifted up and out of the way — exactly like a regular toilet seat — giving full access to the bowl for cleaning without removing any hardware. The existing toilet seat and lid are used on top of the riser, so the toilet’s appearance is unchanged. The riser elevates the seating position by 3" for easier sitting and standing, and the hardware kit is included for secure installation. Elongated design. Weight capacity: 300 lbs.
How is this different from a standard raised toilet seat?
A standard raised toilet seat is a fixed riser that sits between the toilet bowl and the existing seat — it does not move independently. To clean the bowl, you typically have to remove the entire riser, which is inconvenient for daily maintenance. This hinged model has a two-part design where the riser ring is hinged and can be lifted up out of the way — just like lifting a regular toilet seat — giving full access to the bowl for cleaning without removing any hardware. This is the primary advantage of the hinged design and the reason for the higher price point.
Does this work with my existing toilet seat and lid?
Yes — this riser is designed to be used with your existing toilet seat and lid, which are reinstalled on top of the riser after installation. The toilet’s appearance remains essentially unchanged. The riser ring itself is the hinged component that lifts for cleaning; the seat and lid function normally on top of it.
Will this fit my elongated toilet?
This seat is designed for elongated toilet bowls. Elongated bowls are approximately 18.5" long from the seat bolt holes to the front of the rim, compared to approximately 16.5" for standard round bowls. If you are unsure whether your toilet is round or elongated, measure the bowl length from the bolt holes to the front rim — if it is approximately 18.5", you have an elongated bowl. Do not use this seat on a standard round bowl, as it will not fit correctly.
Is 3" of added height enough for post-surgical recovery?
For many users, 3" of additional height provides meaningful relief during sit-to-stand transitions and is commonly recommended following hip and knee replacement surgery. However, the appropriate height depends on the user’s leg length, the height of the existing toilet, and any specific hip precautions prescribed by the surgeon. Consult your physical therapist or occupational therapist for a personalized recommendation — they can assess whether 3" is sufficient or whether a higher riser or a raised seat with arms would better meet your needs.
