Maximum height, removable arms, and the hygiene access that makes daily use practical. The Drive Raised Toilet Seat with Arms adds 5" of height to your existing toilet — one of the tallest standard risers available — making sitting and standing significantly easier for users with limited mobility, post-surgical restrictions, or significant joint pain. The tool-free removable arms are positioned 21" apart and can be added or removed as needed without tools, providing push-up support during the sit-to-stand transition when needed and a clean, armless profile when not. Wide openings at the front and rear provide hygiene access without removing the seat. The standard locking mechanism secures the seat firmly to the bowl. Heavy-duty molded plastic construction for additional strength and durability. Made using recycled materials. Fits most elongated toilets. Backed by a limited lifetime warranty. Country of Origin: China.
How do the tool-free removable arms work?
The arms attach to the raised toilet seat frame without any tools — they clip or slide into position and can be removed just as easily. This allows the seat to be used with or without arms depending on the user’s needs. For example, arms can be removed to allow a caregiver to assist with a lateral transfer from a wheelchair, then reattached for independent toilet use. The 21" width between arms accommodates most adult hip widths comfortably.
Do I need arms on my raised toilet seat?
Arms provide push-up support during the sit-to-stand transition, which is particularly helpful for users with significant leg weakness, balance issues, or strict post-surgical precautions. If you need to push up from the toilet using your arms, this model with removable arms is the safer choice. If you have sufficient leg strength to stand without arm support and prefer a lower-profile seat, consider the armless version (SKU 1152G). Consult your physical therapist for a recommendation based on your specific needs and recovery protocol.
Why choose a 5" riser over a 3" or 4" riser?
The appropriate riser height depends on the user’s leg length, the height of the existing toilet, and the degree of hip and knee flexion that is comfortable or permitted. A taller riser reduces the angle of hip and knee flexion required to sit and stand, which is beneficial for users with significant joint pain, severe mobility limitations, or strict hip precaution protocols following total hip replacement. Your physical therapist or occupational therapist can measure your optimal toilet seat height and recommend the appropriate riser height for your situation.
Will this fit my elongated toilet?
This seat is designed to fit most elongated toilet bowls. Elongated bowls are approximately 18.5" long from the seat bolt holes to the front of the rim, compared to approximately 16.5" for standard round bowls. If you are unsure whether your toilet is round or elongated, measure the bowl length from the bolt holes to the front rim — if it is approximately 18.5", you have an elongated bowl. This seat is not designed for standard round bowls.
