Reliable, universal replacement tips for crutches, walkers, and commodes. These grey rubber replacement tips fit any 1" diameter shaft and provide a stable, non-slip base that helps prevent slipping on indoor and outdoor surfaces. At 1-5/8" high, they offer a standard profile suitable for most mobility aid applications. Sold as a pair (2 tips).
How do I confirm this tip will fit my device?
Measure the outer diameter of the shaft on your crutch, walker, or commode leg at the point where the tip attaches. This tip fits shafts with a 1" outer diameter. If your shaft is smaller (such as 3/4" or 7/8") or larger, select the appropriate size for your device. A tip that is too large will be loose and can come off during use — a safety hazard. A tip that is too small will not seat fully on the shaft.
How do I install replacement tips?
Remove the old tip by gripping it firmly and pulling straight off the shaft — twist while pulling if it is stuck. Clean any debris or residue from the end of the shaft. Press the new tip firmly onto the shaft, pushing straight down until it seats fully with no gap between the tip and the shaft. The tip should fit snugly without wobbling. No tools are required. Check both tips are fully seated before returning the device to use.
When should I replace my tips?
Inspect tips before each use. Replace when the rubber tread is worn smooth, the tip shows cracking or splitting, or the tip feels loose on the shaft. Worn tips significantly reduce traction and increase the risk of slipping — especially on smooth indoor surfaces like tile or hardwood. For daily users, tips should be inspected monthly and replaced every 3–6 months, or sooner if visible wear is present.
Are these tips the same as cane tips?
These universal tips share the same 1" shaft diameter as many cane tips and can be used interchangeably on any 1" shaft device — crutches, walkers, commodes, or canes. The key difference is the tip height (1-5/8") and profile, which is designed for the heavier-duty use typical of crutches and walker legs. If you need tips for a cane specifically, confirm the shaft diameter and check our cane tip listings for size-specific options.
