Corns form when repeated pressure and friction cause the skin to thicken over a bony prominence — and continuing to wear shoes without protection keeps the pressure cycle going. The Visco-GEL Corn Protector slips over the affected toe to cushion the corn against shoe pressure and friction, protecting and soothing the area while the skin heals. The proprietary Visco-GEL material absorbs pressure and friction and releases mineral oil enriched with vitamin E during wear, moisturizing and softening the corn and surrounding skin. The Soft N Stretch fabric sleeve holds the gel pad in position against the toe without adhesives, staying in place during normal daily activity. Available in Small (P81S) and Large (P81L). Pack of 2.
What is the difference between Small and Large?
The Small (P81S) is sized for smaller toes and the Large (P81L) is sized for larger toes. As a general guide, Small typically fits the little toe and adjacent toes on most adults, while Large fits the larger toes including the big toe and second toe. If you are between sizes, the Soft N Stretch fabric sleeve accommodates some variation in toe size. When in doubt, size up for a more comfortable fit.
How does the Visco-GEL material work on corns?
Visco-GEL is a mineral oil-based polymer gel that is soft and flexible. It absorbs and redistributes the pressure and friction from shoe contact away from the corn, reducing the mechanical forces that cause pain and further skin thickening. The gel also releases mineral oil enriched with vitamin E slowly during wear, which moisturizes and softens the hardened skin of the corn over time. This combination of pressure relief and moisturization addresses both the pain and the skin condition simultaneously.
How do I put on the corn protector and how long can I wear it?
Slide the sleeve over the affected toe so the gel pad is positioned over the corn. The Soft N Stretch fabric sleeve holds the protector in place without adhesive. Wear during normal daily activity inside your shoes. Remove at the end of the day, rinse with mild soap and warm water, air dry, and dust lightly with talcum powder before reuse. Replace when the gel pad is worn or no longer provides adequate cushioning.
Is this a corn remover or a corn protector?
This is a corn protector, not a corn remover. It does not contain salicylic acid or other chemical agents that dissolve corn tissue. The protector works by cushioning the corn against shoe pressure and friction to relieve pain and prevent further irritation, while the mineral oil and vitamin E moisturize the skin. For corn removal, consult a podiatrist or use a medicated corn removal product. Many people use a corn protector alongside a removal treatment to stay comfortable during the treatment period.
