The Visco-GEL ToeCoach is a patented combination bunion toe spacer and hammer toe cushion that provides targeted correction and relief in one device. It aligns the big toe to relieve bunion pressure, separates and straightens the 1st and 2nd toes, and supports hammer toes and toe tips — all with the comfort of soft Visco-GEL material. Available in Small or Large, Left or Right foot. Select the correct size and foot orientation at checkout.
How do I choose between Small and Large?
Size is based on overall foot and toe size. Small is appropriate for smaller feet and toes, and Large for larger feet and toes. If you are between sizes, Large typically provides a more comfortable fit as it accommodates more toe volume without compressing the gel against the toes. Select the correct foot (Left or Right) to ensure the device is oriented correctly for the bunion and toe alignment on the affected foot.
How does the ToeCoach address both bunions and hammer toes simultaneously?
The patented design positions a spacer element between the 1st and 2nd toes to push the big toe back toward neutral alignment, relieving bunion pressure. At the same time, a cushioning element wraps under and over the 2nd toe to support a hammer toe or contracted toe and protect the toe tip from shoe contact. This dual function is built into the single device geometry, so both conditions are addressed with one product worn in the same position.
Can this be worn inside shoes during daily activity?
Yes. The soft Visco-GEL material is flexible and low-profile enough to fit inside most standard footwear during daily activity. Shoes with a wider toe box will be more comfortable with the device in place. Very narrow or pointed-toe shoes may not accommodate the device comfortably. Try the device with your shoes before committing to extended wear to confirm fit and comfort.
Is this a corrective device or a comfort device?
The ToeCoach provides passive alignment and cushioning during wear — it repositions the toe while the device is on and relieves pressure and friction during that time. It is not a rigid orthotic that permanently corrects toe deformity. For individuals with mild to moderate bunions or hammer toes, consistent daily wear can help manage symptoms and slow progression. For severe deformity or significant pain, consult a podiatrist for a comprehensive treatment plan.
