Maximum clearance, independent side operation, and easy push-button folding — in a case of 4 for clinical and facility purchasing. This Drive Medical Deluxe Folding Walker features a unique U-shape frame design that creates greater clearance around the user, allowing the walker to be brought closer to the body to assist with standing. Each side operates independently for easier movement through narrow spaces and greater stability while standing. The easy push-button mechanisms can be operated by fingers, palm, or the side of the hand. Built from 1" diameter anodized extruded aluminum for maximum strength while remaining lightweight, with vinyl contoured hand grips for added comfort. Backed by a limited lifetime warranty. Sold as a case of 4.
What does the U-shape frame design do?
The U-shape frame creates a wider opening at the front of the walker, allowing the user to step closer into the walker and bring it nearer to the body when preparing to stand. Standard walkers have a more closed front frame that can limit how close the user can position themselves. The U-shape design is particularly beneficial for users who need to use the walker for stand-assist — getting up from a chair, bed, or toilet — as it allows a more natural, upright standing position with better weight distribution over the walker.
How does independent side operation work?
On this walker, each side of the frame can be adjusted and operated independently. This allows the walker to navigate through narrow doorways or tight spaces more easily by angling one side at a time, and provides greater stability when the user is standing and shifting weight from side to side. It also means the height of each handle can be set independently to accommodate users with uneven arm length or asymmetric posture needs.
How do I set the correct handle height?
Stand upright in normal walking shoes with arms hanging naturally at the sides. The walker handles should be at approximately wrist crease height, allowing a slight bend at the elbow (approximately 15–20 degrees) when gripping — the optimal position for weight transfer and posture. This walker adjusts from 32" to 39". Use the push-button adjustment on each leg and confirm both sides are set to the same height before use, unless asymmetric adjustment is clinically indicated.
