Smooth, effortless walker movement on indoor surfaces. Walker glide skis replace the standard rubber tips on the rear legs of your folding walker, allowing the walker to glide forward smoothly across most indoor floor surfaces without lifting. Made from durable composite construction for long-lasting performance, they fit all 1" folding walkers and are compatible with most leading manufacturers. Easy to install without tools. Sold as a pair (2 skis). Color: White. Retail boxed.
What is the difference between glide skis and glide covers?
Glide covers slip over the existing rubber tips and sit on top of them, adding a smooth plastic surface over the rubber. Glide skis replace the rubber tips entirely and have a ski-shaped profile that sits flat on the floor, providing a larger, more stable gliding surface. Skis generally provide a smoother, more consistent glide than covers and are less likely to catch on floor transitions or grout lines. Both serve the same purpose — reducing friction so the walker slides forward rather than requiring the user to lift the rear legs.
How do I install the glide skis?
Remove the existing rubber tips from the rear legs of your walker by pulling them straight off — grip firmly and twist if they are stuck. Press each glide ski firmly onto the rear leg shaft until it seats fully and does not wobble. The skis are sized for 1" walker tubing — confirm your walker has 1" diameter rear legs before installing. No tools are required. Check that both skis are fully seated and secure before use.
Do glide skis work on carpet?
Glide skis are designed primarily for smooth indoor surfaces such as hardwood, tile, laminate, and vinyl. On low-pile carpet they may still reduce some friction, but the gliding benefit is less pronounced than on hard floors. On thick or high-pile carpet, the ski profile can catch on carpet fibers and may not perform as well as rubber tips. For carpeted environments, standard rubber tips or tennis ball-style glides are generally more appropriate.
Will these fit my walker?
These glide skis are designed to fit all 1" folding walkers and are compatible with most leading manufacturers. Standard adult folding walkers typically use 1" diameter aluminum tubing. If you are unsure of your walker’s tubing diameter, measure the outer diameter of the rear leg at the tip end — it should be approximately 1" for these skis to fit correctly. If your walker uses non-standard tubing, check the glide cover (SKU 1085B, 2" inner diameter) as an alternative.
